Elon Musk's new Twitter CEO is tied to NBC and the WEF
His pick is triggering a massive backlash on the social media platform.
Straight from the horse’s mouth
Elon Musk has confirmed that Linda Yaccarino will become the new Twitter CEO.
Who is Linda Yaccarino?
Yaccarino was a chairman at NBCUniversal (until accepting her new Twitter CEO job). Further, she is an executive chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Yes, you read that right…
Yaccarino previously interviewed Elon at the “Possible” Conference last month. From the 23-minute mark onwards, she began advocating for more advertiser influence on Elon’s Twitter and peer-pressured him to stop tweeting after 3 AM. Specifically, she pushed for the return of Twitter 1.0’s “Influence Council”. Her body language stuck out to me as someone attempting to convey status and dominance on the stage. Compare her body language to Elon’s and I think you’ll notice it too.
Bottom line
I’m very disappointed with Elon’s decision. His own words not too long ago betrayed a distrust and even outright hostility towards the WEF. Despite all that, he decides to make one of their higher-level members his new Twitter CEO? It makes no sense whatsoever.
I hope he knows what he’s doing. Until then, I’m not bothering to renew my Twitter Blue subscription.
My final question to you:
How do you think his decision will pan out?
Thanks for reading.
